THPC 2026 Alumni Event: A Community Worth Celebrating

On 28th May 2026, The Hague Pathway College (THPC) brought together students, alumni, staff, and colleagues for the THPC 2026 Alumni Event: an evening built around connection, celebration, and conversations.

We kicked off with opening remarks from our College Director Principal, Marlies Overbeek, followed by a Q&A with Laurian Hollander and Jacqueline van Marle from De Haagse Hogeschool / The Hague University of Applied Sciences. And it was one of the most honest, inspiring conversations we’ve had as a community.

They reflected on what makes the THPC–THUAS collaboration meaningful for international students: academically, and in terms of the confidence and belonging it builds. They spoke about the mindset that helps students succeed: curiosity, resilience, and a willingness to stay uncomfortable. About how adaptability and networking will only matter more in the years ahead. And about what advice they’d give to alumni just finding their footing in their careers.

Alumni Panel Discussion

The event continued with the Alumni Panel Discussion, hosted by our Director of Academic and Student Services John Mandy and three of our own alumni David Chifamba, Ana Luísa Evans, and Hien Ho sharing their journeys openly and generously.

Hien Ho is in her first year of International Communication Management. She’s also a Student Ambassador, a content creator, a marketing manager, and a music producer. When asked how she manages it all, she didn’t give a polished answer. She talked about learning to say no, and figuring out what actually matters to her.

Ana Luísa Evansis in her second year of International Business. She works in social media marketing, she’s part of ELEVATE Growth Hub, and she’s already building the kind of network most people spend years trying to create after graduation. Her advice? Don’t wait until you feel ready.

David Chifamba graduated in 2024 with a degree in International Financial Management & Control. His internship at SES Satellites turned into a full-time role. That role led him to where he is now: OTC Analyst at Fyffes. He was honest about the parts that were harder than expected. The rejections. The waiting. The uncertainty that doesn’t go away just because you have a degree.

If you’re a current student, the uncertainty you’re feeling right now is not a sign that you’re behind. It’s just part of it. Every person on that panel has sat where you’re sitting. And if you’re an alumnus who’s been on your own version of this journey, we’d love to hear where it’s taken you. The story doesn’t end at graduation. If anything, that’s where it gets interesting.

Celebrating Our Community

Our Student Recruitment Coordinator Saulena Matuzaitė led a heartfelt Student Ambassador award ceremony, celebrating the students who show up for this community time and time again.

The event closed with Networking Bingo and a borrel, giving everyone the chance to connect, catch up, and build new relationships in a relaxed setting.

Events like this are a reminder of just how much the THPC community has to offer, and how far our students go.
